The Duluth Police Department's Crime Center started with a single desk in 2017 and now stands as a fully operational hub.
The agency shared through a Facebook post the completion of their updated Real Time Crime Center. The new hub, which overlooks nearly 400 cameras strategically positioned throughout the city, provides the team with 24/7 coverage ensuring swift assistance to officials.
The new software and monitor upgrades provide enhanced clarity and precision allowing a more accurate picture of unfolding events to be generated. This provides greater efficiency in collaborating with other law enforcement agencies in efforts to fight crime.
ʺWe are incredibly proud of the advancements made within our Real Time Crime Center,ʺ said Chief Jacquelyn Carruth of the Duluth Police Department. ʺThis state‐of‐the‐art facility represents a significant investment in the safety and well‐being of our community. With these upgrades, we are better positioned than ever to serve and protect the residents and visitors of Duluth.ʺ
