A Gwinnett County man has been arrested, suspected in nine burglaries in a single apartment complex near Lilburn.

The Gwinnett County Police Department said Darrius Stokes, age 28 of Lilburn, was arrested Tuesday, found living inside the same complex where the alleged burglaries took place.

The apartment complex in question was the Brentwood Downs Apartments on Pleasant Hill Road. The alleged burglaries happened between June 2 and July 7 according to police.

"In at least two of these incidents, the victim was inside the residence when the suspect forced entry into the home," a statement from Gwinnett Police said.

Officers searched Stokes' home after his arrest Tuesday, reportedly finding several stolen items. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on nine counts of first-degree burglary and two counts of theft by deception.

As of Thursday afternoon, Stokes remained in the jail without bond.

The Gwinnett County Police Department posted video of the arrest of Stokes on their Facebook pages Thursday. That video can be viewed above.
