A suspect in an alleged Duluth armed robbery case was arrested earlier this month by Gwinnett County authorities after a brief car chase.
The Gwinnett County Police Department said officers received information on July 17 that one of the county's FLOCK cameras had spotted a vehcile linked to Samuel Daquilla Medeiros-Santos, age 19 of Lawrenceville.
Duluth Police say Medeiros-Santos had been identified as a suspect in an alleged robbery the previous day, July 16, of two juveniles in the Charleston Bay neighborhood off of Pleasant Hill Road. Mederios-Santos and other suspects had allegedly robbed the two at gunpoint, with one of the victims sustaining "minor injuries."
"Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop," a statement by the Gwinnett County Police Department said. "When the driver failed to yield, officers executed a PIT maneuver, safely bringing the vehicle to a stop.
Medeiros-Santos was then arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, fleeing police and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Duluth Police say more charges may be pending, as the alleged robbery remains under investigation.
