Woman charged with forgery after allegedly trying to pass fake $50 bill in Oakwood

A woman is facing a list of forgery and other charges after she allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit bill at an Oakwood drugstore Monday.

Oakwood Police Lt. Todd Templeton said officers responded to the store on McEver Road and encountered Lindsay Ann Wilson.

"Upon speaking with employees there with the business, they did confirm that Ms. Wilson had attempted to pass one $50 bill that was counterfeit," said Templeton. "As officers investigated further, they found that Ms. Wilson was also in possession of an additional 33 counterfeit $50 bills, along with some substances that were expected to be narcotics, a couple of different types of narcotics."

Wilson was arrested and now faces charges for each of the counterfeit bills: one count of forgery in the first degree for the bill that she allegedly attempted to pass, 33 counts of forgery in the second degree, as well as a count each of heroin possession, marijuana possession less than one ounce, and possession of a drug-related object.

At last report, Wilson remained active on the Hall County Jail inmate roster with a bond of $7,700.
