Hall County authorities have released more details in a drug investigation near Gainesville Wednesday that led to several arrests, including that of a Gainesville murder suspect.
A release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office Thursday afternoon said the investigation happened at a home in The Woodlands on Lake Brenau neighborhood off of Lakeview Drive. A SWAT team reportedly entered the home at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
That search reportedly yielded cocaine, THC and three and a half pounds of marijuana, with the combined street value of the drugs estimated at $13,000. An AK pistol, an AR pistol, another handgun and around $1,000 in cash were also seized.
Three people were arrested at that scene, including Kyland Rochod Williams, age 18 of Monroe, who was wanted on murder charges for a deadly shooting that happened in Gainesville in April of 2024.
"Williams...climbed down the back deck of the house but was immediately apprehended by SWAT Team members," the sheriff's office statement said. "Williams had been stying at the residence."
The other two people arrested were Cruz Alejandro Vargas, age 18, and Angel Miguel Carrera, age 19. Both men lived at the home and are facing lists of drug charges.
All three suspects remain jailed without bond as of Thursday afternoon.

The third and final suspect in a 2024 Gainesville murder case has been arrested.
Hall County Jail records indicate that Kylane Rochod Williams, age 18 of Monroe, was arrested Wednesday on charges of malice murder and aggravated assault. As of Thursday morning, he remained in jail without bond.
The Gainesville Police Department had previously announced that Williams was being sought as the third suspect in the April 2024 shooting death of 16-year-old Jaishawn Overstreet of Gwinnett County, who was found shot in the head at Ridgecrest Apartments off of Park Hill Drive.
Police had previously said that Overstreet had traveled from Gwinnett to Gainesville for what they called criminal activity. In the following months, police arrested Ja'quez Jeremiah Marquis Sims, age 19 of Gainesville, and Quaran Jamir Jackson, age 18 of Gillsville in connection with the shooting.
Sims and Jackson both face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and gang charges. Sims also faced a charge of tampering with evidence at the time of his arrest.
No details on how Williams was arrested have been released as of Thursday morning, and police have not identified which of the three teens was the suspected gunman in the shooting.
