Two people were arrested Saturday night after authorities were tipped off to possible drug activity at a Texaco gas station in the city of Hiawassee.
The Towns County Sheriff’s Office said investigators set up surveillance and made contact with Nicolle Michelle Arlotta, 40, of Warne, NC, and Brian William Whitney, 44, of Hiawassee.
Investigators developed probable cause and searched the suspects and reportedly found several controlled substances.
Arlotta was allegedly found with methamphetamine and was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, Intoxicants, drugs without consent
and possession and use of drug-related objects.
Whitney was charged with possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.
