A Gainesville driver is in custody for fleeing from law enforcement on Monday night after committing multiple traffic violations on Winder highway.
The 19-year-old has been identified as Hadassa Monet Saint Jean and was first noticed by a Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputy as she was driving 81 in a 45 zone, nearly hitting nearby cars.
The deputy activated their emergency lights and gave chase to the suspect, who continued to drive. Saint Jean drove around stopped traffic, went through a gore, continued on Mundy Road and continued to put other drivers at risk.
Saint Jean continued to drive in a reckless and aggressive manner until she reached Frontage Road. At that time, the deputy observed the driver attempt a right turn on Frontage Road, striking another passenger vehicle in the rear. She continued to flee on Frontage Road. At that point, the deputy made the determination to force Ms. Saint Jean’s vehicle to the right side of the roadway to end the pursuit.
The following charges have been put against Saint Jean: Fleeing/attempting to elude (felony), aggressive driving, reckless driving, speeding, passing in a no-passing zone, driving too fast for conditions, following too closely, driving in a gore or median, changing lanes with no signal and hit and run.
At last check, Ms. Saint Jean remains in the Hall County Jail with a bond of $14,780.
