Two arrested, $18.5K worth of drugs seized in multiple drug busts in Cleveland

Two Cleveland residents have been arrested in three separate marijuana grow operations in Cleveland Tuesday in which drug agents found roughly $18,500 worth of drugs.

According to a press release from Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey, White County authorities executed two search warrants, one at 728 White Oak Trail and another at 100 Rattlesnake Hill, both in Cleveland.

Agents located five marijuana plants and less than an ounce of marijuana at the White Oak Trail residence. Lamar Yawn was charged with manufacturing marijuana and has agreed to turn himself in Wednesday.

Six marijuana plants, 1.5 pounds of cultivated marijuana, a handgun and $12,000 were found inside the Rattlesnake Hill residence, Posey said.

Christopher Richards was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and he was transported to the White County Detention Center.

Agents also seized five plants found growing in pots along the wood line of a home on Town Creek Road. The investigation into who is involved in growing that marijuana is still under investigation.

ARDEO was assisted in the operation by the White County Sheriff's Office and the Governor's Task Force/Drug Suppression. The Task Force's primary goal is to eradicate domestic marijuana within the state and gather intelligence on its manufacture and cultivation.
