By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

A man was arrested after authorities allegedly found drugs and firearms while searching his vehicle in Forsyth County last weekend.

In a social media post, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the scene of a suspicious vehicle in the north end of the county on March 11 where they found Christian Avery Seay, age 24, asleep in the driver's seat of the truck. A woman was also asleep in the passenger seat.

The woman reportedly told authorities Seay had a gun and Seay allegedly tried to flee on foot. Once deputies caught him, they began to search the truck where they found methamphetamine, Xanax, over a pound of marijuana and other drugs.

A handgun was reportedly found in Seay's waistband as well as another firearm in the truck that did not have a serial number.

Seay was arrested at the scene and authorities eventually learned that he also had warrants in both Hall and Dawson counties. He is currently in the Forsyth County Jail without bond facing a list of drug and weapons-related charges.
