By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

Two people were arrested last week after authorities reportedly seized over a pound of cocaine during a traffic stop in Commerce.

Georgia Bureau of Investigations officials said the stop happened near the intersection of Georgia 59 and Steve Reynolds Industrial Parkway on May 18. The cocaine was found in possession of the driver, Leonardo Gabriel Steeple, age 45.

Steeple was arrested at the scene and a search was later done on his home, where authorities reportedly discovered more cocaine and marijuana. As a result of the search, Steeple's passenger during the traffic stop, Ajia Monique Wilson, age 38, was also arrested.

Steeple was booked into the Jackson County Jail while Wilson was booked into jail in Stephens County. Both face charges of trafficking cocaine and possession of marijuana.

GBI officials said the case is still under investigation.
