11 arrested in Habersham County drug, gang busts

Habersham County authorities have arrested 11 people in a drug and gang investigation over the past two weeks.

A release from the Habersham County Sheriff's Office said the arrests are all connected to an investigation that started in January when an inmate at the county jail was assaulted. The first arrests were made in a traffic stop on April 13 when three people were jailed for methamphetamine and marijuana charges.

The rest of the arrests were made during the execution of search warrants at two separate residences in Demorest and Alto on April 21.

The list of suspects arrested and their charges is below:

  • Amber Nicole Addis, age 29 of Clarkesville - trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Robert Ronin-Bojangles Angove, age 18 of Clarkesville - aggravated assault, aggravated battery, violation of the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Act
  • Bobby James Ayers, age 50 of Alto - possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Benjamin Joel Babcock, age 39 of Homer - outstanding warrants
  • Clinton Josiah Davis, age 40 of Cleveland - trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Douglas Waylon Davis, age 42 of Cornelia - trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Fellica Necole Davis, age 40 of Demorest - aggravated assault, aggravated battery, three counts of violation of the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Act
  • Anthony Bryson Ewing, age 21 of Maysville - outstanding warrants
  • David Lee Nix, age 34 of Demorest - trafficking fentanyl, trafficking methamphetamine, two counts of theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, owning operating or conducting a chop shop, criminal damage to property
  • Eric Edward Thompson, age 39 of Clarkesville - possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Nigel Alan Waddell, age 34 of Mt. Airy - trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

Three of the suspects, Angove, Waddell and Fellica Davis, were also reportedly involved with the street gang Ghostface Gangsters according to authorities.

In total, the arrests and searches yielded more than 1,500 grams of meth, 13 grams of fentanyl, over 200 grams of marijuana, 14 guns and nearly $4,500 in cash. Officials say the investigation is still active as authorities pursue other suspects.

The Habersham County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Gainesville office of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office.
