City leaders in Sugar Hill are looking for feedback and suggestions on preliminary plans for a new 22-acre park coming to an area near Ga. 20 and Sugar Ridge Drive.
An open house is planned for Tuesday at City Hall from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for residents to get an idea of what the park might eventually look like and what features it might have, said Troy Besseche, assistant city manager.
"We also have our monthly downtown festival, Thursdays at the Hill, going on about the same time, so it's a good chance to experience our downtown," said Besseche.
The park, which does not yet have a name, will be a "passive" park, which will include features like walking trails, playgrounds and pavilion areas.
Besseche said city leaders will also take public input on possible names for the park.
"That seems to be very popular these days — to seek out public input, so we are planning to do that. Because we haven't established a schedule or a program for construction ... we haven't really pushed naming the park, but we are accepting input on it," said Besseche.
The park property was purchased in 2016, and the city officially annexed it in February.
