GAINESVILLE — A Gainesville man who fled from a crime scene in north Hall County on November 16 was caught in Rabun County over the weekend, and authorities in Gainesville said he will have to post bond there before he can be returned to the custody of Hall County.
Danny Ray Clore, 27, was arrested by Rabun County authorities after being on the run for almost a week.
Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes said investigators had issued a lookout for Clore following a shooting incident on Cleveland Highway (Hwy 129) at Shope Road, where the suspect allegedly opened fire on a vehicle with several people inside.
"Since that date [November 16], our investigators have been able to locate additional victims and that's prompted us to obtain two additional aggravated assault warrants," said Bailes.
According to Bailes, Clore now faces the following charges in Hall County: four counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and a violation of State Court Probation.
Bailes said Clore cannot answer to those charges, however, until he posts bond in Rabun County, where he has been charged with possession of methamphetamine as well as fleeing and eluding.
Bailes said no one was injured in the incident earlier this month, and she said Clore and his alleged victims knew each other. She did not say what prompted Clore to open fire on the vehicle.
