DEMOREST, Ga. — After 12 seasons at the helm of the Piedmont men's basketball program, Greg Neeley has resigned to transition into the role of Athletic Director at Tallulah Falls School.
Neeley amassed 145 wins while with the Lions and led a total of 19 all-conference performers.
"Greg is the kind of man you want leading your program and Piedmont was fortunate to have him for over a decade leading our men's basketball team," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Jim Peeples stated. "He is the role model you want in that position, leading with integrity and has built young men who are excellent representatives of this institution."
During his career with the Lions, the team posted six winning seasons and made back-to-back trips to the semifinals in the Collegiate Conference of the South in its first two years in the league. Piedmont won at home over Berea in 2024 in the first home postseason contest since the 2017-18 season.
During the Lions' time in the USA South, Neeley guided 10 USA South all-conference selections including Jordan Foote who posted a breakout season in 2019-20 earning first team all-conference honors with 11 double-doubles and a career-best 40-point performance.
"I am so appreciative of my time at Piedmont," Neeley said. "Piedmont is a special place because of the people and I sincerely want to thank every student-athlete, assistant coach, support staffer, and administrator that has worked with our program. I am proud of the student-athletes who have come through our program and the men who they are today."
Neeley was selected to the 2018 NCAA Men's Basketball Coaches' Academy as one of 30 NCAA men's basketball coaches chosen to participate in the inaugural class. Neeley has also served on the NCAA D-III Men's Basketball South Region Advisory Committee and was the USA South Men's Basketball Coaches' Chair.
"We wish him nothing but the best in this new endeavor and appreciate his service to the institution and these young men over the last 12 years," Peeples said.
