The final standings of the 2017-18 USA South President's Cup have been released by the conference office with Piedmont College claiming both the Overall President's Cup and the Women's President's Cup for the second straight season. This marks Piedmont's second Overall President's Cup and the fourth Women's President's Cup in the last five years.

First awarded 40 years ago, the USA South Athletic Conference President's Cup symbolizes the league's top overall athletic program each year. As of the 2005-2006 school year, there is a separate men's and women's Cup as well the overall Cup. Points are distributed based on the number of schools sponsoring the particular sport.

Piedmont is still just the fourth different league member to claim an Overall President's Cup and is one of only two active USA South member institutions along with Methodist University to have sat atop the standings overall. Piedmont claimed the Overall Cup by a margin of six points over Methodist University after taking the win over the Monarchs last season by a margin of just three points.

The Women's President's Cup for Piedmont is the fourth such distinction in the last five years for the Green and Gold with PC only joining the USA South six seasons ago. Since joining the league, Piedmont has finished no lower than second the Women's Cup standings while PC has posted a top three finish in the Overall now for five straight years.

Piedmont captured women's soccer and women's tennis USA South regular season championships while earning top-three performances in baseball, men's basketball, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, men's tennis, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's lacrosse, softball, and volleyball. Additionally, the Lions earned bonus points thanks to postseason performances in the sports of women's basketball and women's lacrosse.

Since the inception of the President's Cup, Greensboro College, Meredith College, Methodist University, N.C. Wesleyan College, Piedmont College, Maryville College, and former league members Christopher Newport University and St. Andrews Presbyterian College have been the recipients. Christopher Newport laid claim to 31 cups, Methodist has totaled 16, Piedmont owns six N.C. Wesleyan took two, and one President's Cup apiece belongs to Greensboro, Maryville, and Meredith.
