DEMOREST — The honors continue for Piedmont baseball player Brady Ballstadt as he was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America team this week. Ballstadt earned a spot on the third team listing after earning first team All-Region status earlier in the week.

The junior outfielder was the only player from Georgia to make the cut and one of two USA South players to earn All-America honors as Alex Kachler, C, from Methodist was on the third team as well.

Ballstadt earns All-America honors after posting a .397 batting average in 2018 and led the USA South in hits with 73, earning conference Player of the Year as well. The junior from Suwanee, Georgia led the team in runs, hits, doubles, and homeruns for the second year in a row and totaled 120 bases, the best in the NCAA era program history, breaking his own record of 98 set a season ago.

The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 9,600 members represent all 50 states and 25 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School and Youth.
