The Hall County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) says a shooting Tuesday, August 6, outside of a residence on Greenway Road in East Hall County hospitalized two men, one who is facing multiple charges.
HCSO deputies were dispatched to the scene just after 7:30 p.m. and found the27-year old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg. The suspected shooter, 31- year-old Jullius Devin Collins, had fled the scene. Another deputy responding to the scene later located Collins walking southbound on Old Cornelia Highway.
A press release from the Sheriff's office indicates that Collins suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Both the victim and Collins were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The preliminary investigation determined Collins had been threatening members of his family throughout the day, telling them he would come to the residence on Greenway Road and shoot them. He allegedly arrived at the home with a gun and confronted two family members outside the residence, fired his weapon, striking the male victim, but missing an adult female victim. The male victim, who was armed with a handgun, returned fire, striking the suspect one time.
Arrest warrants were secured for Collins for aggravated assault and aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act (FVA), both felony crimes. Collins was transported to the Hall County Jail after his release from the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Collins is being held without bond while the case remains under investigation. No charges are being filed against the second victim.
