The Hall County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) has updated the details on a motorcycle wreck over the Labor Day weekend that took the life of the driver.
According to officials, a 51-year-old Cleveland man was negotiating a curve on Southers Road near Ledan Road early Sunday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle.
"Deputies actually out working spotted a motorcycle on its side," HCSO public information officer Derreck Booth said. "He laid the motorcycle down, it slid through the grass and into a tree."
Booth said the man was identified as Bobby Jonathan Terry, and his body was sent for autopsy after the next-of-kin was notified. The deputies found the motorcycle at around 6:30 a.m.
"At this time, we don't know an exact time of the crash," Booth said. "Southers Road was blocked for about an hour during the investigation, and that was the second of two fatal accidents."
Booth also added that it is unknown if Terry was under any type of influence at the time of the crash. With it being the second fatal wreck of the holiday weekend, he did offer advice to drivers.
"Just follow basic traffic rules, not saying that this gentleman wasn't ... just keep an eye out," Booth said.
