Gainesville Police identify suspect, victim of murder suicide

The Gainesville Police Department has released the identities of the victim and suspect of a murder-suicide in the 2800 block of Deerwood Trace.

Lt. Kevin Holbrook with the Gainesville Police Department said Zenaido Alejo, 60, of Gainesville allegedly shot Rosa Ojeda Contreras, 55, of Gainesville before he shot himself.

The two were reportedly married with adult children. 

"They were found in a vehicle in the cul-de-sac this morning," Holbrook said in an email.

The Gainesville Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide in the 2800 block of Deerwood Trace.

In a social media post, GPD officials said police found a dead man and woman inside a vehicle at a private residence. 

“We would like to remind the public that our community has an abundance of resources for those impacted by domestic violence,” the post said.
