Employee arrested for allegedly stealing $29,000 from Gainesville dental office

A woman was arrested Monday after police alleged she stole tens of thousands of dollars from a Gainesville dental office.

Gainesville Police Lieutenant Kevin Holbrook said Great Expression Dental, located on Pearl Nix Parkway near Lakeshore Mall, reported the alleged thefts to the police department in early June of this year.

"It was determined that the former employee, Felicia Waycaster, who had been employed by the dentist office for about a year, had been taking money from around the beginning of January of 2025 until early June," Holbrook said.

Waycaster, age 40 of Gainesville, had reportedly worked the front office for the business. Holbrook said she used various methods to steal just over $29,000 from the business.

"It appears that there were multiple payments through cash (by customers.) Those payments were never made to the company. (Waycaster) took those payments and then tried to convert it," Holbrook said. "This was realized through an audit and then through an investigation...we were able to get warrants."

Waycaster was booked into the Hall County Jail, where she remained on $27,000 bond as of Tuesday afternoon. Holbrook said the case remains under investigation.
