The Gainesville Police Department arrested Thursday the suspect of an armed robbery at a convenience store in the city over the weekend.
In a release, police officials said Abraham Makaya Bazaba, 17, of Gainesville entered the Browns Bridge Market in the late hours of Jan 13. Bazaba allegedly pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money.
Officials said Bazaba fled the store with nearly $700 in stolen cash.
He is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and theft by taking.
Bazaba is being held in the Hall County Jail and additional charges are pending.
