Gainesville City Schools has announced enrollment dates for Pre-K and Kindergarten students for the 2024-25 school year.
Priority for classroom space will be provided to all City of Gainesville residents first.
GCSS will provide transportation services within an assigned cluster.
GCSS officials said the Pre-K lottery opens on Feb.1 and closes on Feb. 16 at the GCSS School Board Office at 508 Oak Street Gainesville, GA. Enrollees must be city residents to sign up.
The lottery drawing for all Pre-K slots will occur on Monday, Feb. 19.
The school will notify parents if their child is selected and will be provided instructions on enrolling their child.
New enrollees for kindergarten should register online from January 16 - 31 officials said.
To participate in Choice Enrollment online registration must be completed and received by Jan. 31.
“To begin, go to www.gcssk12.net. Click the Student Registration and Enrollment Tab and select the New Student Registration link. Parents should upload the following documents into the GCSS online application: birth certificate, immunization form #3231, ears, eyes and dental certificate #3300, social security card (if available), and 2 proofs of residency documents which include one of the following: current lease/mortgage/purchase agreement, current warranty or quit claim deed, current paycheck stub/IRS Form 1099, current homeowner’s insurance policy AND a copy of a current (within 30 days) utility (gas, water, electric, cable/internet bill with service address), and photo ID of parent/guardian,” officials said.
Currently, enrolled city residents from Pre-K- to grade 7 will come home with Choice Enrollment forms on Tuesday, January 16.
