Towns County authorities arrested a Blairsville man Thursday after allegedly finding him with methamphetamine and other drug-related objects in a church parking lot.
A social media post by the Towns County Sheriff's Office Friday afternoon said Sgt. Bryan Forsyth was patrolling when he saw suspicious activity at Cornerstone Baptist Church on Crane Creek Road near Young Harris. Forsyth then requested backup and began a search of a parked vehicle.
That search allegedly yielded meth and illegally obtained Baclofen, a prescription medication. Officers also reportedly found drug-related items including scales as well as a large amount of cash.
Mark Anthony Roberson, age 36, was arrested at the scene. He was booked into the Towns County Detention Center where he was being held without bond as of Friday afternoon.
Roberson faces a list of charges including Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.
