A woman from Cornelia suffered suspected serious injuries Saturday morning following a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 441 in Habersham County.

According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, the wreck happened at about 9:20 a.m. on the roadway at its intersection with Talmadge Drive.

Marie Patterson, 78, of Cornelia, was reportedly driving north on U.S. 441 in an SUV. She was attempting to turn left and allegedly failed to yield. The Georgia State Patrol said Patterson's vehicle traveled in front of a pick-up truck driven by Henry Lewallen Harper, 18, of Atlanta. Harper was driving south on the roadway.

Harper was unable to avoid the SUV, striking it on its front right corner.

Patterson was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with a suspected serious injury, while Harper was transported to NGMC Habersham with a possible minor injury.
