A wreck in Clarkesville Wednesday morning shut down U.S. 441.

According to the crash report, the wreck occurred just before 8 a.m. when a 16-year-old driver was traveling on Travis Smith Road and failed to yield turning on to the highway.

The driver of the other vehicle, 61-year-old Ann Cain, was traveling down the highway in the left lane.

The 16-year-old driver attempted to turn left and the front of their vehicle struck the passenger side of Cain’s Ford Expedition.

The 16-year-old’s Subaru Forester then began to rotate and come to a rest in the intersection of U.S. 441 and Travis Smith Road, while the Expedition came to a rest on the shoulder of the highway.

Neither driver was transported for injuries, but the 16-year-old was reported as possibly sustaining injuries.

The 16-year-old was cited with a failure to yield.
