A two-vehicle wreck Thursday morning on Interstate 85 in Buford left one person dead.
According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. on I-85 northbound at Buford Drive.
Officials said a Kia Soul reportedly lost control in the rain and came to a stop in lane four. That's when a tractor-trailer struck the Kia in the driver's side.
The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck created extended delays on the roadway during the Thursday morning commute. All northbound lanes in the area were shut down shortly after 8:00 a.m. for an investigation into the wreck.
