5 suspected methamphetamine dealers arrested in Towns County

Five people suspected of dealing in methamphetamine were recently after a six-week drug investigation in Towns County.

The Towns County Sherrif's Office said in a social media post authorities were able to arrest the suspects following work from undercover investigators.

All five of the suspects were caught on video clearly showing the illegal drugs and cash changing hands during the undercover investigations. Arrest warrants were obtained for all five suspects following the undercover transactions.

A round-up began on Sunday, Nov. 19, as a result of the arrest warrants. The following suspects were arrested, charged and are being held without bond:

  • Macayla Ann Laster, 38, of Hayesville, NC
    • Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony sale of methamphetamine, felony sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana
  • Kimberly Faye Hall, 24, of Hiawassee
    • Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony sale of methamphetamine
  • Jason Earl Barrow, 43, of Hiawassee
    • Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony sale of methamphetamine
  • Brett Austin Teasley, 28, of Ellijay
    • Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony sale of methamphetamine
  • Jeremy Weaver, 39
    • Charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony sale of methamphetamine

"Sheriff Ken Henderson stresses that if you are selling drugs in Towns County, we are coming after you," the social media post said. "This 6-week investigation and long hours have resulted in getting these dealers out of our community."
