The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating after a school bus accident Friday morning on Hamilton Mill Road in Buford left three people with injuries.
The agency said no students were onboard the bus at the time of the accident near Bart Johnson Road.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a white pickup truck crossed the center line and hit the school bus head-on.
Police said three people were injured, two of which were critical injuries. All patients were transported to a local hospital.
Police are working to determine why the truck crossed the center line, and drug and alcohol impairment are under investigation.
Hamilton Mill Road was shut down for a couple of hours but reopened around 10:30 a.m.
