The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested on Thursday two women who are accused of attacking and killing a Buford woman.
The physical altercation happened on Thursday around 1 p.m.. Authorities claim Antonetta Stevens, 27 of Buford, and Janine Gonzales, 17 of Buffalo, New York lured the victim to their apartment complex.
When Ashely Bocanegra, 30 of Buford, reached the complex near 2900 Buford Drive, Stevens and Gonzales attacked her and stole her cell phone.
Bocanegra went to the hospital with serious injuries, where she died the same day.
Gwinnett Homicide Detectives were unable to find and interview Stevens and Gonzales after the incident. However, they were able to determine a possible motive for the attack.
Detectives learned that Gonzales’ brother was in a romantic relationship with both Stevens and Bocanegra.
Gonzalez and Stevens have been arrested and charged with aggravated battery, robbery, and felony murder.
