Suspected drug trafficker arrested in Dawson County

A suspected drug trafficker was arrested in Dawson County after grabbing a deputy and then briefly fleeing on foot.

Initially, deputies stopped Michael Pro of Kennesaw after seeing a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of a crime. Deputies were looking into a possible car break-in when they stopped Pro. They spotted drugs in his vehicle and questioned Pro.

As deputies were talking to Pro, he grabbed one of the deputies. A short altercation between Pro and deputies ended when Pro was tased. After he was handcuffed, Pro fled on foot. He was captured quickly.

Deputies located and seized 4.5 oz of methamphetamine, an ounce of marijuana and other narcotics. According to a statement from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), “Pro thought it was wise to traffic illicit narcotics in Dawson County, however, our DCSO Deputies and Crime Suppression Unit Members were out to prove otherwise.”

Pro was charged with Trafficking of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Criminal Interference with Government Property, Felony Obstruction, Possession of Drug Related Objects, Driving on a Suspended License and False Name and Date of Birth to Law Enforcement. Also seized was cash money used to purchase, or for the use of, narcotics.
