By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office found "a substantial amount of methamphetamine" and stolen items including motorcycles and a shotgun Thursday during a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of a Jefferson man.

In a social media post Friday, the sheriff's office said they arrested Cody McGowan Hall, 29, on a list of charges including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony theft and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was being held in the Jackson County Jail at the time of the post.

The other stolen items that were found included a utility trailer and a license plate. The sheriff's office said the items are from a local burglary.

Officers also recovered cash at the scene.
