Buford man arrested after he, two others shot in road rage incident

A 25-year-old Buford man was arrested Tuesday following a road rage incident in Gwinnett County in which he and two other people were shot.

Shormoi Martin was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a felony.

Gwinnett County police said Martin and the driver and passenger of a white work van were having a dispute over something that happened on the road. Martin, in a black Honda Accord, and the white van pulled into the parking lot of a business at 3820 Buford Drive, just off Interstate 985.

Martin allegedly began shooting from inside his car into the van. When Martin tried to leave the scene, the drive of the van tried to stop him. Martin got out of his car and fired again into the van. At that point, the passenger of the van grabbed a gun and shot in the direction of Martin, hitting him in the leg.  

The van drove away, ending up at a nearby Gwinnett Fire station to get medical aid. The passenger was shot in the chest. The drive was shot in the leg.

All three victims are in stable condition and are being treated at a local hospital for their injuries.
