Dawsonville man arrested for December Hall County road rage incident

A man from Dawsonville is facing charges in connection with an apparent road rage incident that happened in Hall County in Dec. 2021.

According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, David Shawn Carney, Jr., 33, was arrested on Wednesday.

Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators said Carney reportedly struck a transport vehicle with his own vehicle while driving northbound on Ga. Highway 365 near Mud Creek Road on Dec. 10, 2021. The transport vehicle belonged to Mobile Imagining, LLC. 

Carney is also accused of firing a gun at the transport, damaging a piece of medical equipment inside. 

The driver of the transport vehicle was not injured.

Carney is charged with aggravated assault, first-degree criminal damage to property, second-degree criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon during the commission of a crime.

Carney remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of 2 p.m. Thursday.
