Lawrenceville: Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run accident

The man involved in a pedestrian accident early Wednesday morning has passed away today. The accident in Lawrenceville leaves authorities looking for the hit-and-run driver. The accident happened around 1 a.m. on the SR316 WB exit ramp to Collins Hill Road and the Lendon Connector.

The pedestrian that was hit and killed has been identified as Frances Megland, age 21 of Lawrenceville. According to a press release from the Lawrenceville Police Department, officers arrived on the scene and found Megland with critical injuries. He was taken to Northside Gwinnett Hospital but died of his injuries on Thursday.

An investigation is underway, but authorities are asking anyone who might have witnessed the accident to please come forward with details.  The Lawrenceville Police department is hoping the public will be able to help identify a suspect.
