The Georgia Department of Natural Resources resumed a search for a missing swimmer in Lake Lanier at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Mark McKinnon, spokesman for DNR, identified the missing man as Dorian Adonis Pinson, 20, of Greenville, South Carolina. Pinson is presumed drowned.
"The primary objective is to locate and recover Mr. Pinson to bring closure to his grieving family," McKinnon said in an email statement Monday morning.
The names of the other swimmers who were with Pinson at the time he went under the water were not made public.

Emergency crews were on scene until dark most of Sunday evening searching for a drowning victim in the area of Sunrise Cove Marina in Gainesville.
According to Zach Brackett, Division Chief with the Hall County Fire Services, emergency crews were called to a reported drowning at the marina just after 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.
Three individuals rented a pontoon boat and attempted to go swimming. They were unable to make it back to the boat due to wind. Two of the subjects were rescued, but the third went under and did not resurface.
First on the scene was Hall County Fire Services. "Fire Services personnel assessed the scene and utilized their side scan sonar in an attempt to find a target to dive," says Brackett. "After an hour of searching without locating a target, the scene was turned over to DNR and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for recovery operations."
According to a statement from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), they also searched using sonar technology. The search continued until dark and around 10 p.m. they announced they would suspend the search until morning.
According to their statement, Game Wardens will resume the search at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday.
More details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
