Several counties in North Georgia may see snow Saturday night and Sunday morning, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.
A winter storm warning goes into effect at 6 p.m. Saturday for Lumpkin, White, Habersham, Rabun, Union and Towns counties, while Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer and Pickens counties will be under a winter weather advisory.
In the warning area, the higher mountain elevations could get up to four inches of snow. Lower elevations are predicted to see an inch of accumulation. The advisory area also is expected to be impacted by snowfall.
Forecasters are telling residents that travel may be treacherous, especially on roads in the higher elevations.
Any snowfall should end by noon Sunday based on current forecasts.
