The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for North and Central Georgia on Saturday.
NWS said low relative humidity, breezy winds and dry fuels and vegetation will lead to critical or near-critical fire weather conditions. The warning will be in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday.
The red flag warning is in effect for areas with wind gusts of 25 mph or higher. A Fire Danger Statement is in effect for areas with lower wind gusts.
Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged as any fires that develop could spread quickly.
