By Lauren Hunter Multimedia Journalist

Gwinnett County police are looking for the drivers of two vehicles involved in a pedestrian fatality in Lawrenceville on Dec. 3.

According to a press release, the vehicles involved are a Dodge Journey made between 2011 and 2020 and a newer model red Toyota Corolla. Police think the Corolla will have damage on the lower front bumper.

The drivers of these two vehicles are accused of hitting Julio Sandoval, 55, of Norcross as he was crossing Singleton Road north of Thompson Parkway. Officers were called to the scene of a hit and run around 8 p.m. Sandoval was hit by one vehicle and then the second one shortly after.

Both vehicles fled the scene after hitting Sandoval. Witnesses have claimed they saw the driver of the Corolla stop and get out of their car after hitting Sandoval, then get back in and drive off when they saw the victim lying in the road.

Sandoval died as a result of his injuries. Police are asking anyone with information in the case to contact GCPD investigators at (678) 442-5653. Tipsters can remain anonymous by contacting Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or by visiting www.stopcrimeATL.com.
