The 16-year-old who was shot in the head while waiting at a school bus stop Tuesday morning has died, according to Lawrenceville police.
Lt. Jake Parker, public information officer with the Lawrenceville Police Department, said the suspect, Serar Abdi, 17, is now charged with malice murder following the death of the victim.

Lawrenceville police have released the name of the suspect charged in the shooting of a 16-year-old boy at a bus stop in Lawrenceville Tuesday morning.
Lt. Jake Parker, public information officer with the Lawrenceville Police Department, said Serar Abdi, 17, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.
Parker said additional charges are subject to change depending on the victim's condition. At last report, the victim was still in critical condition.

A Central Gwinnett High School student was taken to the hospital in critical condition Tuesday morning after he was reportedly shot in the head while waiting for a school bus.
Lt. Jake Parker, public information officer with the Lawrenceville Police Department, said the 16-year-old boy was shot at about 6:30 a.m. while waiting at a school bus stop in the Saddle Shoals neighborhood.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested and is facing charges for his alleged involvement in the incident. The suspect was also a student at Central Gwinnett High School.
Parker said an 18-year-old was also arrested but was promptly released following questioning. The 18-year-old is not facing any charges in the incident.
While the motive is currently unknown, Parker said the victim and the suspect knew each other from school. He said the two may have been in an ongoing dispute at the time of the shooting.
The shooting is still under investigation.
