Piedmont had a pair of Lady Lions earn USA South Athletes of the Week as Melissa Eckman and Caroline Connelly both were named to the listing by the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday.
Eckman earned USA South Softball Pitcher of the Week while Connelly took USA South Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
The Lady Lion softball team posted a 4-2 record over the last week with all games coming in conference competition. Eckman posted a 3-0 record with a 0.57 ERA with all three coming as complete games in the circle.
Eckman earned one win against each Agnes Scott, LaGrange, and Huntingdon with the last two coming on the road.
Connelly helped the women's tennis team to a 2-0 record with both wins coming in conference play. Connelly posted a 2-0 singles and doubles record with wins over Wesleyan and Covenant.
Piedmont's win over Covenant snapped a 19-match regular season conference win streak for the Scots as Connelly's win at No. 2 singles clinched the match for Piedmont.
The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday and at least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.
