UPDATE: Authorities search for Hall County bank robbery suspect

The FBI and the Hall County Sheriff's Office are hoping somebody will recognize the man who robbed a BB&T bank on Lanier Islands Parkway Friday morning.

The suspect (pictured) is described as a 6-foot-tall black male, weighing 220 pounds and wearing a black t-shirt and latex gloves.

The man was also wearing a stocking to obscure his head during the incident, which was recovered at the scene, said Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware.

He allegedly forced an employee into the Buford business at gunpoint around 8:30 a.m., forcing the victim to open the vault. He forced two employees into an interior room before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is said to be driving a light colored SUV or van, though authorities did not know where he might be headed.

No injuries were reported.

Ware said in a phone interview that the FBI is working the scene because these types of crimes often become multi-jurisdictional.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hall County Sheriff's Office at (770) 503-3232.
