The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly award listing with a pair of Lady Lion athletes making the cut. Senior Cahner Manns earned women's lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week while freshman Hannah Hoban took home Softball Rookie of the Week.
Women's lacrosse went 2-1 over spring break in their Pacific Northwest trip as Manns, a senior from Matthews, North Carolina, had a total of 14 draw controls and scored a pair of goals while contributing six assists. Manns has started each contest this season and is third on the team in assists while leading the team with 40 draw controls.
Softball opened conference play with a 3-1 record over the weekend sweeping Covenant and splitting a doubleheader with Maryville. Hoban, a freshman from Phoenix, Arizona, went 6-for-13 over the weekend as she currently leads the Lady Lions in batting average, doubles, home runs and is tied for a team-best total in RBI.
The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday and at least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.
