Norfolk Southern to repair 17 railroad crossings in Hall County

Repairs are on the way for 17 railroad crossings all over Hall County, starting Tuesday and wrapping up March 21.

Norfolk Southern Railway, according to a press release from Hall County Spokeswoman Katie Crumley, advised the county on Friday that resurfacing will be taking place at the following locations (work dates in parenthesis):

  • Yonah Homer Road, Alto (Feb. 16)
  • Garland White Road, Alto (Feb. 16)
  • Alto Village, Alto (Feb. 17)
  • Grant Mill Road, Alto (Feb. 18)
  • Wynn Shoals Road, Alto (Feb. 18)
  • McDaniel Street, Alto (Feb. 22)
  • Barefoot Road, Lula (Feb. 23)
  • Chamblee Road, Oakwood (Mar. 3)
  • Main Street, Oakwood (Mar. 7-8)
  • White Sulfur Road (two crossings), Gainesville (Mar. 10-11)
  • Cagle Road (two crossings), Lula (Mar. 15)
  • Lula Road, Lula (Mar. 16)
  • Athens Street, Lula (Mar. 16-17)
  • 8th Street, Lula (Mar. 21)
  • Barefoot Road, Lula (Mar. 21)
  • Moccasin Gap, Lula (Mar. 21)
  • Bertha Gragg Road, Lula (Mar. 21)

Crumley said drivers are advised to use caution if they drive through these areas while construction is taking place.
