Georgia men's golf makes a move, as Ralston leads charge

FORT WORTH, Texas — The No. 12-ranked Georgia men’s golf team improved to third place following the second round of the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational on Monday at Colonial Country Club. 

The Bulldogs registered a 2-under 278 in the second round to move to 3-over 563 for the tournament. Georgia trails Vanderbilt’s 551 and Florida’s 552 in the team standings with one round remaining. 

Freshman Spencer Ralston paced the Bulldogs on Monday as he shot a 3-under 67 (a round that featured six birdies). Seniors Jaime Lopez Rivarola and Greyson Sigg each signed for 1-under 69s, while sophomore Tye Waller added a 3-over 73. Freshman Trevor Phillips had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 4-over 74. 

Ralston stands fourth individually at 4-under 136, two off the pace set by Oregon’s Wyndham Clark and Stanford’s Maverick McNealy.  Lopez Rivarola and Sigg are tied for 14th at even-par 140. Waller moved to 7-over 147, followed by Phillips at 9-over 149.
