SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — For 10 holes on Saturday, Spencer Ralston was putting together one of the best rounds of the day in the third round of the Price Cutter Charity Championship at Highland Springs Country Club.
The Gainesville native birdied Nos. 4, 5 and 7 to open the round moving to 11-under par for the tournament and just seven shots off the lead at the time.
But a bogey on the Par 5 11th and a disastrous double-bogey on the Par 4 12th, fueled by an out-of-bounds tee shot, dropped him back to even par for the day. Ralston birdied the Par 3 15th sandwiched between five pars to close out the round
After climbing into the top 15, Ralston’s 1-under 71 left him at 9-under for the tournament and tied for 57th. He sits 11 shots behind the leaders going into Sunday’s final round.
Ralston will tee of at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
