SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Spencer Ralston fired his second consecutive 68 on Friday in the second round of the Price Cutter Charity Championship at Highland Springs Country Club.
Ralston, a former Gainesville High and Georgia standout, sits at 8-under 136 for the tournament after a bogey-free round, which puts him in a tie for 20th. However, play was suspended for part of the day on Friday due to weather with nearly half of the 148 players still on the course.
He started the day in 31st place but began to climb his way up the leader board rolling in a birdie putt on the Par 4 10th on his opening hole. He would put a string of eight straight pars together before birdieing the Par 5 1st ,draining another birdie putt.
He added birdies at the Par 4 5th and the Par 5 8th to close out his round.
There is little danger he won't make the cut, which was set at 4-under. He sits seven shots behind leader Parker Coody, who carded an 8-under 64 on Friday to lead by one shot at 15-under (129).
