PEACHTREE CITY - Much of Georgia - including the Gainesville area - is at risk for severe thunderstorms today.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City says the best chances for severe weather will be in the afternoon and evening (2:00-10:00), mainly along and north of a Columbus to near Dublin line.
The agency says the storms will have the potential to down trees with wind gusts of 60 miles-an-hour or more. Locally heavy rainfall and frequent lightning are also possible.
