LAWRENCEVILLE - Five suspects, including four juveniles, were arrested earlier this month in connection with the theft of World War II memorabilia from a Lawrenceville home in March.
Michele Pihera with the Gwinnett County Police Department said 18-year-old Demarquis Williams was arrested June 4th and is facing charges of burglary, theft by recieving, credit card theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Charges and identities of the other suspects are not available.
Pihera said the five are suspected in a burglary on March 26th, in which a home on Flint Hill Drive was burglarized. Missing from the home was a laptop, a cellphone and jewelry. Among the jewelry were military ribbons, pins and rank insignias belonging to home owner Jeffery Jackson's deceased grandfather who fought in World War II.
Two days later, a stolen car was found at an apartment complex in Norcross with the missing items inside. The items were sent to a relative in New York who then met with Gwinnett Police to return the items to Jackson on June 1st.
