Cable TV show follows the case of Kelly Nash of Buford

GAINESVILLE - The Investigation Discovery Channel plans to air a show Sunday night about the disappearance and death of a Buford man earlier this year, and producers claim they were given an exclusive on Kelly Nash's cause of death.

The show called "Gone in Georgia: A Disappeared Special" focuses on the case of the 25-year-old Nash, whose body was found in Lake Lanier in February.

The show claims that Nash was shot before he drowned in the lake; authorities with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Friday morning that they have not yet received an official cause of death from the State Crime Lab.

Family and friends spent weeks searching for Nash after he left his home on Jimmy Dodd Road in Buford early the morning of January 5. Nash shared the home with his girlfriend, and she told authorities she last saw Nash around 4 a.m. the day he disappeared. Surveillance video from a nearby convenience store documented that Nash was in the store around 4:30 a.m. that day.

A YouTube preview of the Sunday night show is provided above.

Charter Communications customers will be able to view the program on Channel 181.
