GAINESVILLE - As work continues on widening the main route between Gainesville and Athens, DOT is advising of a planned traffic shift as part of that project.
Weather permitting, next Thursday, traffic will be shifted from the existing lanes onto new pavement on U.S. 129 in Jackson and Clarke counties.
The DOT is also installing a new traffic signal on the Homer ByPass in Banks County.
It's at U.S. 441 and State Route 51 and should be operational by the end of the month.
